Mrouzia Recipe

🥘 Supplies Needed

  • 1 Mrouzia Bomb
  • 4 lb of meat: preferably beef shank or chuck steak (precut)
  • 1 cup of olive oil
  • 1 onion
  • 350 ml of water
  • Stove or pressure cooker

Instructions:

  1. Heat the pot
    Place your tagine or pot over medium heat. Add olive oil, and thinly cut onion.

  2. Add meat
    Place the precut beef shank or chuck steak into the pot.

  3. Add spice bomb & water
    Drop in 1 Mrouzia Bomb. Pour in 350 ml (about 1 ½ cups) of water. Stir gently until the spice bomb dissolves.

  4. Simmer the meat
    Cover and cook on low heat for 2.5–3 hours, until the meat is tender and coated in the rich, sweet-spiced sauce. Stir occasionally and add a splash of water if needed.

  5. Serve
    Serve hot with fresh bread. For a festive touch, garnish with sesame seeds or blanched almonds.
